In Year 6 we expect children to read regularly at home. This includes reading independently, reading to an adult, and reading to a sibling. We ask that the child or an adult records reading in the reading diaries. These will be checked regularly.
All children are expected to have their reading diary and levelled reading book in school every day.
Children in Year 6 will have P.E on a regular basis. The children are expected to have their correct P.E kit in school. This should include suitable outdoor P.E kit.
Class 20 and 21 have P.E on a Monday afternoon, taught by Mr Edwards.
Class 19 have P.E on a Friday afternoon, and are taught by Miss Groves.
You will receive a letter regarding swimming closer to the time. Year 6 will be going swimming in the Summer Term.
All Year 6 children are expected to complete homework on a weekly basis. This will usually be a piece of English work, and a piece of Maths work. The Homework will be based on what we have been learning in class.
Homework will usually be given out on a Friday, and is due the following Friday. If your child is struggling with their homework, they can always seek support from the teacher.
We are here to support your child
If you have any concerns, worries or questions, you are more than welcome to come and speak to a member of the Year 6 team. We are here to support your child in achieving, and being proud of themselves.
