Our teachers are…

(Year Group Leader)
Ms Abrahams – Class 11
Mrs Berrisford – Class 11
Mr Booton – Class 12
In Year 3, the children are expected to at least 4 times a week. Reading diaries will be signed by the class teacher every morning, and they will be written in during Guided Reading sessions. The children have opportunities for free reading to promote our love of reading, and they are able to change their book regularly.
Year 3 will be focussing on a different spelling rule each week in their lessons. An example of this would be to add the suffix -tion. (complete – completion) The spelling rule of the week will be displayed within the classrooms. Children will receive a list of spellings every week to learn at home for our spelling test the following week.
P.E for all of Year 3 is on a Monday morning. Class 10 and 11 have P.E with Mr Edwards, and Class 12 have P.E with Mr O. Please support the children in having the correct P.E kit in school.
All children in Year 3 are taking part in the Timestable Rockstars. Everyday the whole class has 3 minutes to complete as many multiplication questions as they can, whilst rock music is playing in the background. The children enjoy taking part in this, and set themselves targets to improve their score.
Each class teacher will give a list of timestables for the children to learn at home once per week.
Mathematics and English homework is given out every Friday by the class teachers. The children have one week to complete both pieces before returning to the class teacher on the following Friday.
Our teachers are really nice!
If you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to ask us. If you think you may require a longer amount of time for a discussion, we would recommend that you schedule a meeting. If you have any special skills or would like to come and listen to the children read please let the teachers know, as they would love the help.
