Lunchtime at Ambleside Primary School
Universal Free School Meals
From September 2014, the government announced that all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be able to have a free school meal at lunchtime. This offer does not depend on your household income or whether you receive any benefits – every child in these classes is eligible to take up the offer. For more information please speak to the main school office.
Paying for School Meals
School dinners are prepared on site using quality, wholesome produce and offer good value for at £1.95 per day (£9.75 per week). If you pay for your child’s meals, money should be brought to school in a sealed envelope with the child’s name and class number written on the front.
Alternatively, payment by cheque is acceptable – please make these payable to “Nottingham City Council”.
Dinner money should be brought to school on a Monday, or the first day back at school after a holiday or after a child’s absence.
If children wish to change from sandwiches to dinners or vice versa, we would prefer at least one week’s notice be given beforehand if possible.
