- Use maps, atlases and globes and digital computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied.

- Locate the worlds countries using maps to focus on Europe (Including the location of Russia and North and South America)

- Rivers, mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes (Please do not do the river Nile as Year 5 cover this in their Egypt topic).

- A place in the UK and a place in Europe – compare and study land use patterns understand how some of the aspects have changed over time.

- Geographical similarities and differences through the study of physical and human geography of a region in Africa.
Fieldwork and Skills
- Use fieldwork to measure and record physical features (rainfall) and use measuring skills to create graphs of the findings.

Fieldwork and Skills
- Use the 8 points of a compass, 5 and to figure grid references, symbols and key including use of ordnance survey maps to build knowledge of the UK and the world.
